A 28-year-old garment businessman was found dead inside his clothing store in Faridabad, with police registering a criminal case against eight members of his wife’s family after a video posted on social media and a suicide note allegedly blamed them for prolonged harassment.
The case has drawn attention after the deceased’s final video surfaced online, in which he claimed he had been subjected to continuous mental and physical harassment. Police said all eight accused have reportedly gone into hiding, while the investigation is continuing.
The deceased, identified as Rahul, lived in Sector 3 Housing Board Colony and operated a clothing store in the same locality. According to police, he had married in 2024 and had recently opened the retail outlet on the ground floor of his building.
The incident came to light after Rahul’s brother, Amit, noticed an emotional video uploaded to Rahul’s Instagram account. Alarmed by its contents, family members rushed to the shop and forced open its locked glass doors. They found Rahul dead inside.
Final video and suicide note form part of probe
In the video recorded before his death, Rahul maintained that he was innocent and said, “God knows how right I am and how right she is.”
He also sought strict legal action against those he held responsible and requested that ownership of his shop and other assets be transferred only to his parents and siblings.
