Four persons were arrested for stabbing a 30-year-old man to death in East Delhi’s Mandawali on Thursday, Delhi Police officials said.

The arrested accused, Aman Saifi (22), Aftab (24), Nikhil Bora (24), and Prem Kumar (20), allegedly attacked the victim with a knife after he purportedly abused them in an inebriated state.

The police were informed about the incident that occurred on the night of Wednesday through a PCR call received about the crime in Rajinder Park, West Vinod Nagar, they said. Soon, a team reached the spot and found a man lying in a pool of blood with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to the Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital, where he was declared dead by the attending doctors, police said.

The deceased, who has been identified as Narender from Uttarakhand’s Amrola, was an unemployed vagabond addicted to alcohol.

While probing the case, two out of the four accused, Saifi and Aftab, were arrested from Khoda in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad.

“During interrogation, the duo disclosed that they were sitting in the park along with their other acquaintances when the victim approached them in an inebriated state, asking for a cigarette,” said Abhishek Dhania, Deputy Commissioner of Police (East).

Adding to his statement, the officer said, “A heated exchange broke out after the victim abused them, following which the men allegedly attacked him with a knife.”

The other two men, Bora and Kumar, who fled the crime spot after committing the crime, were also tracked down to UP’s Hapur within hours.

Officer Dhania mentioned that the motorcycle used to evade has been confiscated by the cops.

Bora, a resident of Shakarpur, has a history of crime and was booked in four criminal cases of assault and robbery. Kumar, a delivery boy, is a resident of West Vinod Nagar, police said.

DCP Dhania further stated that another suspect in this case, Bhuppi, is at large. Efforts are on to nab him.
