Factory owner shot dead in Northeast Delhi

A factory owner was shot dead in the Welcome area of North-East Delhi late on Sunday night, said police.

The deceased has been identified as Agash Ali, 23, a resident of Welcome who was taken to a nearby hospital with bullet injury. But he succumbed to his injuries during the treatment.

A case of murder has been registered at Welcome police station and investigation has been taken up. Police have got some clues about the assailant and efforts are being made to nab him.

According to a police official, Agash, who hailed from Sambhal, UP lived with his four brothers, two sisters and other family members. Agash along with his two brothers used to run a steam press factory in Welcome area. They had hired some employees to work in the factory.

All these people used to work till late night in the factory. On the night of Sunday, Agash was working in the factory along with his two brothers and three employees till late night.

At around 2 am everyone went out to eat at an eatery. Just when they were about to eat food, an assailant came from behind and fired at Agash.

His brothers and others present there took him to the hospital, where he died during treatment. The matter was reported to the police from the hospital. A case was registered. Probe is on.
