Delhi Police arrested 16 people and seized multiple narcotic substances during a targeted operation under Operation Kavach-14.0 in the West District. The operation was carried out as part of the Delhi Police’s stated zero tolerance policy against drug trafficking.
Dedicated teams from the Anti-Narcotics Squad, Special Staff, and police stations across the West District conducted intelligence-based raids, surveillance, and targeted operations against drug peddlers and traffickers. A total of 13 NDPS cases were registered during the operation.
Who was arrested?
Sixteen people were apprehended in total, including two women. The arrests were made across multiple police station jurisdictions within the West District, including Punjabi Bagh, Rajouri Garden, Tilak Nagar, Khyala, and Vikas Puri.
What was recovered?
The operation resulted in the seizure of several narcotic substances. Recoveries included 32.161 kilograms of ganja, 89.77 grams of smack, 9.8 grams of cocaine, and 6.62 grams of MDMA.
In addition to the drugs, police recovered one three-wheeler auto, one scooty, one mobile phone, and Rs 1,450 in cash from the accused.
Largest single seizure: 23 kg of ganja at Punjabi Bagh
The Anti-Narcotics Squad registered FIR No. 314/2026 under Section 20(c)/29 of the NDPS Act at Punjabi Bagh police station. Four accused were arrested in this case: Mithun Kumar, Vikram Kumar, Sanjay Yadav, and Md. Rizwan. A total of 23.160 kilograms of ganja, classified as a commercial quantity, was recovered from their possession. This was the largest single seizure of the operation.
MDMA and auto recovered at Rajouri Garden
The Anti-Narcotics Squad registered FIR No. 265/2026 under Section 22/25 of the NDPS Act at Rajouri Garden police station. One accused, Ram Kumar, was arrested. Police recovered 6.62 grams of MDMA along with one three-wheeler auto from his possession.
Cocaine and scooty seized in separate Rajouri Garden case
The Special Staff registered FIR No. 268/2026 under Section 21 of the NDPS Act, also at Rajouri Garden police station. One accused was arrested in this case. Police recovered 9.8 grams of cocaine and one scooty from the individual. The name of the accused in this case was not released in the police statement.
Four smack cases across multiple police stations
Four separate cases involving smack were registered across police stations in Tilak Nagar, Punjabi Bagh, Khyala, and Vikas Puri. A total of approximately 89.77 grams of smack was recovered across these four cases. Four accused were arrested in connection with these seizures.
Additional cases involving the recovery of ganja were registered at several other police stations in the West District beyond the commercial quantity case at Punjabi Bagh.
