Fulfilling the long-pending demands of local residents, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday inaugurated new road and drainage works in the KU, FU, ED and ND Blocks of Pitampura, marking a major push to upgrade civic infrastructure in the area.
She also inspected the boundary wall being constructed by the PWD and directed engineers to expedite all redevelopment work in the surrounding lanes.
During an extensive visit to the Shalimar Bagh Assembly constituency, the Chief Minister inaugurated and reviewed multiple projects aimed at improving essential public amenities.
She emphasised that the redevelopment of both front and back lanes in several blocks has been taken up as a priority to ensure smoother mobility, better sanitation, and an improved quality of life for residents.
Gupta later conducted a detailed inspection of civic facilities in the GP Block’s Seva Basti, where she assessed the progress of the toilet complex, Atal Canteen, Arogya Mandir and the Drinking Water ATM.
She instructed officials to complete these projects at the earliest so they can be opened to the public without delay.
Highlighting the scale of ongoing development, CM Gupta said that key projects including a multi-level parking facility, a community hall, a major auditorium, park renovations and the upgrading of DDA markets are progressing rapidly across the constituency.
These initiatives, she noted, are part of a broader plan to bring “unprecedented transformation” to the region in the next five years.
Reiterating her commitment to public service, Gupta assured residents that every local issue would be addressed systematically and on priority.
She also sought detailed progress reports from all concerned departments, underscoring that development work will continue uninterrupted to meet the expectations of the people.
