Welcoming Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to citizens to reduce petrol and diesel consumption and avoid foreign travel to save foreign exchange as well as the Delhi government’s announcements on fuel conservation, Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva said these are emergency measures taken in the national interest.

Sachdeva said that, along with the entire country, the people of Delhi understand the importance of the Prime Minister’s appeal for saving foreign exchange. All national capital residents will support the call to reduce petrol and diesel use by increasingly adopting measures such as switching to public transport and carpooling.

He further said that all Delhi BJP office bearers and workers will also comply with the appeals, and will also conduct party meetings online to contribute towards fuel conservation.

Notably, ever since the PM gave the call, Delhi ministers have traveled by metro, spreading awareness amongst citizens to support the cause.

The city has a vast metro rail network, and the government has introduced DEVi buses to further improve last-mile connectivity.
