Delhi Assembly Speaker Vijender Gupta on Wednesday chaired a high-level meeting at the Vidhan Sabha to review preparations for the All India Speakers’ Conference, scheduled on August 24–25 at the historic legislature complex.
A joint inspection of the assembly premises was conducted by the Speaker, assembly officials, and senior Delhi Police officers to assess on-ground arrangements, including venue readiness, entry and exit management, seating layouts, and emergency protocols.
Discussions also focused on ensuring seamless security for dignitaries and maintaining the highest standards of protocol.
Gupta said the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat has completed all necessary arrangements for the successful hosting of this landmark conference, adding that it would leave a lasting imprint on India’s parliamentary traditions and democratic values.
Delhi Police Commissioner S.B.K. Singh assured the Speaker of *foolproof* security measures, stating that no lapses would be tolerated. He pledged the full support of the Delhi Police, congratulating the Speaker for hosting a conference of such national importance.
Singh further shared key suggestions to ensure smooth operations, protocol management, and dignitary movement. He announced that all participants will be accorded *State Guest* status and provided with dedicated protocol and security officers. From airport arrival to accommodation, traffic movement, and assembly access, every detail will be managed with utmost care to ensure a smooth experience for all distinguished delegates.
This year’s conference carries special significance as it marks the centenary of Vitthalbhai Jhaverbhai Patel’s historic election on August 24, 1925, as the first Indian President (Speaker) of the Central Legislative Assembly, a milestone in India’s democratic journey.
The All India Speakers’ Conference 2025 will be inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and will conclude with a valedictory address by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla.
