CM, PWD minister attend NeVA training as Delhi Assembly goes digital

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta and PWD Minister Parvesh Verma on Tuesday took part in the National e-Vidhan Application (NeVA) training program at the Delhi Assembly, as the legislature is heading towards paperless and digital functioning.

It was the second day of the of the training which is being given to the Delhi MLAs by experts from the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, with regard to the paperless functioning of the house through the application, which they can access on the smartphones and tablets, as well as the advanced terminals being installed at their seats in the house.

The CM, along with the PWD Minister, visited the NeVA training centre that has been setup at the Vidhan Sabha premises, and experienced the platform firsthand.

The experts gave a detailed presentation to Gupta, Verma and other legislators, briefing them on the objectives, features, and functionalities of the new platform, that is aimed to enhance the efficiency of work and increase accountability.

Speaking on the occasion, speaker Vijender Gupta said that the ongoing training program is a significant step towards realizing the vision of One Nation, One Application, for the legislatures.

Gupta added that enthusiastic participation of members, including the CM will ensure the smooth achievement of the assembly’s transformation goals.

As part of the digital rollout, smartphones equipped with the NeVA app were also handed over to the CM and PWD Minister, which will enable seamless access to the platform and the working of the assembly.

MLAs also accessed their digital List of Business (LoB) using newly provided smartphones and interacted with the system through the advanced systems installed at the training centre.

The training program will continue for a day more, and ensure all the MLAs are fully equipped for the upcoming monsoon session which will be under the digital framework.
