Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta reiterated her priorities and vision for a ‘Developed Delhi’ on Saturday, stating that making the national capital a world-class educational hub is central to her government’s agenda. She stressed that nothing can stop her from working for the betterment of people.

“We already have excellent colleges and universities in Delhi. What we now need is outstanding infrastructure, modern facilities, and world-class faculty, so that students choose to stay here rather than go abroad to shape their careers and build the nation’s future,” she added.

Addressing students during an event at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Gupta highlighted the Delhi government’s vision to place the city at the forefront globally through education, innovation, and the strength of its youth.

Recalling her student life at the university and connecting it with current events, the CM said that during her tenure as DUSU president, she had sustained serious injuries while leading a protest.

Gupta said she had not lost courage at that time, and that the same spirit continues to guide her even today. “I am now working with even greater determination. I am not afraid of any demonic force. I am used to fighting storms, and the people of Delhi are my greatest strength,” she added.

The CM stated that she has the affection and blessings of the people of Delhi and is working with renewed resolve.

“I shall not be stopped by fear of any power. Until Delhi secures its rightful status, I will continue my struggle. I will neither be afraid, nor tire, nor ever give up,” she stressed, adding that despite the recent attack on her, her courage and determination have only become stronger.

She urged SRCC students to realise that every individual has a vital role in the nation’s progress.

“This country cannot advance relying only on governments, and every citizen, every student, every professor, every faculty member must shoulder their responsibility,” she said.

She emphasised that one must not act only for oneself, but also for society and the nation, adding that even the smallest effort in the service of the country can have a great impact.

The CM reaffirmed that making Delhi a world-class educational hub remains one of her top priorities.
