Six months after the gangrape and murder case of 16-year-old girl in Kotkhai area of Shimla district and subsequent arrests of police officials, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday hinted at unraveling the mystery behind the ghastly crime.

“We have got some leads in the case and we will soon give good news in the case,” Anshul Bansal, CBI counsel told media after hearing at the Himachal Pradesh High Court on Wednesday.
Bansal said the CBI submitted an affidavit in the court as per the HC’s previous directions to clear assertions as to whether the investigating agency’s Director has knowledge or he is monitoring the investigations in the case.

“The court has expressed satisfaction over the developments in the case and 28 March has been fixed as the next date of hearing in the case,” he said.
