The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, has selected internationally acclaimed neurosurgeon Prof. (Dr.) V S Mehta for its prestigious “Lifetime Achievement Award” in recognition of his extraordinary contribution to the field of neurosurgery and medical education in India.
The award will be formally conferred during the 51st annual convocation of AIIMS scheduled to be held on May 12 at Bharat Mandapam.
As per an official letter by AIIMS, New Delhi, Vice-President C P Radhakrishnan, has consented to be the Chief Guest for the ceremony.
In this regard, an official communication conveying the recommendation for the honour has been sent to Prof. Mehta by Prof. Girija Prasad Rath, Registrar, AIIMS New Delhi.
As the former Head of the Department of Neurosurgery and Chief of the Neurosciences Centre at AIIMS New Delhi, Prof. Mehta has played a transformative role in advancing neurosurgical care, academic excellence, and cutting-edge research in the country.
Presently serving as Chairman Emeritus, Neurosciences at Paras Hospital, Gurugram, Prof. Mehta continues to inspire the medical community through his visionary leadership, clinical expertise, and unwavering dedication to patient care.
