To ensure Uttar Pradesh plays a strong role in realizing the dream of Viksit Bharat @2047, a “Viksit Uttar Pradesh @2047” vision document is being prepared.

In this context, a state-level brainstorming session was organized on Friday, under the aegis of the Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, and the Department of Technical Education.

The youth will be trained in modern industries such as AI, quantum technologies, semiconductors, renewable energy, green hydrogen, and drones. They will be made employable and aligned with industry requirements.

New courses are being introduced by upgrading ITIs so that trainees can become employers rather than employees. This is Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s dream and will further strengthen the Prime Minister’s vision of a Viksit Bharat.

Addressing the program, Dr. Hariom, Principal Secretary of the Department of Vocational Education and Skill Development, said that to build a Viksit Uttar Pradesh, youth are being offered better training in ITIs to ensure employment opportunities. The focus is on strengthening infrastructure, trainers, assessment, certification, and placement.

MoUs have been signed with Tata Technologies to upgrade 212 ITIs, and 24,000 students have been trained over the past two years. Seven lakh students are being trained annually in ITIs, while the Skill Development Mission (Kaushal Vikas Mission) trains 70,000 youth every year. Training in new-age technologies such as drones, IoT, AI, and blockchain will empower young people to become global leaders.

Additional Chief Secretary of Technical Education, Narendra Bhushan, stated that improved training in polytechnics is strengthening human resources for industries. The academic calendar has been standardized across all states. In collaboration with Tata Technologies, MoUs have been signed with 121 polytechnics to prepare students for Industry 4.0. Placements are being facilitated through MoUs with Naukri.com, while skill development is being enhanced through partnerships with companies under the Centre of Excellence (CoE).
