Taking cognizance of the biting cold and the prevailing severe cold wave conditions across Uttar Pradesh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the closure of all schools up to Class 12, across all boards — ICSE, CBSE and UP Board — till January 1.
The Chief Minister said that the safety of children is of utmost importance during the cold wave and warned that any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated.
He directed senior government and administrative officials to remain in the field to personally assess the ground situation. Emphasizing public safety, the Chief Minister instructed that adequate arrangements for blankets and bonfires must be ensured at public places across all districts.
The Chief Minister also issued special instructions regarding the operation of night shelters. He said: “No person in the state should be forced to sleep in the open during the severe cold. All night shelters must be equipped with essential facilities, including bedding, blankets and proper cleanliness. Officials must ensure that the needy receive timely relief and shelter.”
