Rajya Sabha by-election: Polling for 3 seats in West Bengal on July 24

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced that the by-elections for three vacant Rajya Sabha seats from West Bengal will be held on July 24. The seats fell vacant following the resignations of Trinamool Congress MPs Sukhendu Sekhar Roy, Sushmita Dev, and Prakash Chik Baraik.

As per the poll panel’s schedule, the notification for the by-elections will be issued on July 7 and the last date for filing of nominations is July 14. Post that, scrutiny of nomination papers will take place on July 15, and the last date for withdrawal of candidature is July 17.

The polling is all set to be conducted on July 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with the counting of votes beginning at 5:00 p.m. on the same day.

The Election Commission has directed that the entire election process be completed by July 27.
