The Asansol Division of Eastern Railway has undertaken comprehensive measures across key stations — including Asansol, Madhupur, and Jasidih Junctions — to manage the expected surge in passenger traffic during Kali Puja, Diwali, and Chhath Puja. These initiatives aim to ensure safe, comfortable, and orderly travel for all passengers.
At major stations, dedicated entry and exit points, upgraded signage, improved public address systems, and regulated inflow zones with holding areas of 3,000 to 3,500 sq ft have been set up. Guidance teams and RPF personnel have been deployed at foot overbridges, circulating areas, and other high-traffic zones to assist passengers and maintain smooth movement.
A dedicated war room at the DRM Building, Asansol, has been established, equipped with live CCTV feeds from all key stations to enable real-time monitoring and prompt response to any operational needs.
These arrangements form part of the division’s ongoing efforts to enhance passenger convenience, streamline movement, and ensure safety across all stations. Operational feedback from the field will be used to guide future improvements and develop sustainable systems for passenger flow management.
During the festive season, these proactive measures are expected to ease congestion, ensure smooth operations, and provide passengers with a safe and pleasant travel experience throughout the division.
