Started in 1964 in Delhi and brought to Kolkata in 1968, the Statesman Vintage and Classic Car Rally has remained what it was six decades back: an occasion for joy and celebration, marked by good cheer and bonhomie.
While there are now dozens of vintage car rallies that are organised every year across the country, The Statesman rallies have managed to retain their character and charm, and uphold what these were envisaged for: an exhibition of old cars, some grand and resplendent, others modest yet worthy of being celebrated for the era they belonged to.
Over the years, this finest vintage and classic car rally, with editions in Kolkata and Delhi, has brought together proud owners who love to show off their cars, as well as those who are fascinated by these machines but lack the resources to own one.
