In a significant diplomatic breakthrough in the West Asia conflict that have disrupted global economies and triggered an energy crisis of unprecedented scale, President Donald Trump on Saturday announced that the peace deal with Iran will be signed tomorrow, (Sunday, June 13, 2026).
In a lengthy social media post on Truth Social, Trump criticised former American President Barack Obama for his administration’s deal with Iran that, according to him, gave the Islamic Republic a “smooth road to a nuclear weapon.”
In contrast, Trump said, “My Agreement with Iran is the exact opposite, A WALL TO NO NUCLEAR WEAPON! In fact, they no longer want a Nuclear Weapon, nor will they have one, either through purchase, development, or any other form of procurement.”
He confirmed that the deal is scheduled to be signed tomorrow and immediately after that, the “Hormuz Strait is OPEN TO ALL.”
He further asserted that the Washington’s relationship with Tehran is “a much different and better one than previous Administrations have had.”
Trump also stated that the US will “go in and get the nuclear dust” at an appropriate time.
“At the appropriate time, when all is calm, we will go in and get the Nuclear Dust, buried deep under the powerful sunken granite mountains, thanks to our beautiful B-2 Bombers and their brilliant pilots, and downblend and destroy it, whether in Iran, or the United States.”
“We look forward to working with Iran, and the entire Middle East, long into the future. Hopefully, this process will all work out quickly, easily, and smoothly. If it doesn’t, we have the ultimate alternative, hopefully never to be used again!” he added.
Tehran disputes signing date
His remarks came shortly after Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei dismissed Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s claim that the deal is expected to be signed within next 24 hours.
“We will have to wait and see about the exact date of the signing of the memorandum of understanding, although it will not be tomorrow,” Baghaei said.
Earlier in the day, Sharif had claimed that a peace deal between the US and Iran is closer than ever before and could well be signed by Sunday.
“We are closer to a peace deal than ever before. With finalisation expected in the next 24 hours, Pakistan is preparing for the electronic signing of the peace deal immediately after, followed by technical-level talks next week,” the Pakistan PM said.
The signing of the deal, according to Sharif, would follow technical negotiations from next week.
