Bhubaneswar, 1 October: Utkal Coal Limited (UCL), a special purpose vehicle (SPV) of Imfa group, distributed “record of rights” (RoRs), land rights documents, to
the residents of the company&’s rehabilitation and resettlement site at Jamunali village in Angul district.
District collector Mr Ranjit Mohanty gave away the deeds in the presence of director of UCL, Mr Sanjeev Das.
Mr Das claimed that this is the first ever distribution of RoR by any company to the project displaced persons in a mining area.
“As part of our initiative and endeavour to ensure livelihood and reassurance of the company&’s commitment to the Rehabilitation and Resettlement (R & R) Policy of 2006 of the Government of Odisha, the project displaced persons who have moved into the rehabilitation site were awarded the land rights for the portion of the land they have been allotted,” he said. sns
