Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva have highlighted the strengthening ties between India and Brazil.
At a bilateral meeting, the two leaders underscored the importance of their strategic partnership in promoting mutual interests and addressing global challenges.

Addressing a joint press meet on Tuesday, PM Modi and President Lula said they discussed enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people linkages.

The two leaders emphasised the importance of their strategic partnership in promoting mutual interests and addressing global challenges.

They also discussed various global issues, including climate change, sustainable development, and multilateralism.

“Today, as the world navigates through a phase of tension and uncertainty, the India-Brazil partnership is a vital pillar of stability and balance. We are unanimous that all disputes should be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy,” said PM Modi.

“Our thinking on the fight against terrorism is aligned – zero tolerance and zero double standards. Our clear stance is that there is no place for double standards on terrorism. We strongly oppose terrorism and those who support it,” PM Modi emphasised.

“Our cooperation in the field of energy is continuously growing. Environment and Clean Energy are the main priorities of both countries. The agreement signed today to enhance cooperation in this field will provide new direction and momentum to our green goals,” PM Modi said, asserting: “Our cooperation in the field of agriculture and animal husbandry is decades old. Now we will also work together on agricultural research and food processing. In the field of health, we are also expanding our win-win cooperation.”

The meeting reflects the growing importance of India-Brazil ties and their shared vision for a more inclusive and sustainable world.
