Noted litterateur Dr Pratibha Ray emphasized according proper recognition to the creations of poet Kuntala Kumari Sabat not only at the state level but also at the national level, while underscoring the need for more research work on her life and creative works. 
“The creative works of the poet including Prema Chintamani, Anjali and Sphulinga are mixture of Swami Vivekananda&’s love towards mankind and Radhanath Ray&’s romanticism. She was a love poet with purity,” Dr Ray said, while delivering the first Kuntala Kumari Sabat Memorial lecture organised by Central University of Odisha here. 
Speaking on the topic “Utkal Bharati Kuntala Kumari: Eka Rahasyavadi Kavyaswara,” Dr Ray described Kuntala Kumari as the realistic poet with the combination of mysticism and spiritualism. 
“Her mysticism with the combination of reality was incomparable particularly in the period of early twentieth century. Her poetry also dealt with love towards mankind. Kuntala Kumari always had tried to bring sweetness from the world of enmity,” she said.  
Presiding over the event, well-known writer Mr Prafulla Kumar Mohanty stressed on the need for bringing ethics in literature for purifying the society.
“While in the present society defining ethics was difficult, it was literature which could bring ethics to the society.
“The term ethics had been always dynamic and changed with corresponding need of the society,” he said. 
Observing that Kuntala Kumari was the apostle of women empowerment, vice-chancellor of CUO Prof Dr Surabhi Banerjee described her as the symbol of equality.
A good number of poets and writers of the district joined the students and staff of the university in interacting with the speakers on various issues related to the field of literature and language.
