PM Modi Concludes Productive Visit to Brazil, Arrives in Windhoek, Namibia

Prime Minister Narendra Modi concluded his productive visit to Brazil and arrived in Windhoek, Namibia at 6:30 am local time after an overnight journey from Brasilia.

“Landed in Windhoek a short while ago. Namibia is a valued and trusted African partner with whom we seek to boost bilateral cooperation. Looking forward to meeting President Dr Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah and addressing the Namibian Parliament today,” PM Modi said in a post on his handle X on Wednesday.

“PM Modi concludes a productive visit to Brazil and emplanes for Namibia. On his last leg of the 5-nation tour,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a post on handle X.

PM Modi’s visit to Namibia is expected to further strengthen India-Namibia relations, particularly in areas such as trade, investment, and cultural exchange. The visit will also provide an opportunity for PM Modi to engage with Namibian leaders and discuss ways to promote mutual interests. He will also have a meeting with President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, and will also address the Namibian Parliament.

During his visit to Brazil, PM Modi engaged in several high-level meetings with Brazilian leaders, including President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. The two leaders discussed ways to strengthen India-Brazil ties, particularly in areas such as trade, defence, energy, and space.

PM Modi and President Lula emphasised the importance of their strategic partnership in promoting mutual interests and addressing global challenges.

The two leaders discussed enhancing cooperation in areas such as trade, defence, energy, space, technology, agriculture, health, and people-to-people linkages.
