Pakistani Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar’s grandson has been arrested for the alleged gang rape of two foreigners, according to local media reports.

Muhammad Raza Dar is among the five accused arrested by the Pakistani police. The other three have been identified as Hassan Raza, Sikandar Khan and Sajid Ali, while the fifth one is still absconding.

The accused have been sent to a five-day police remand by a Lahore court.

“Since it is a very sensitive matter as a close relative of Deputy PM Ishaq Dar is involved in this high-profile case, police are investigating it from all aspects,” a police officer was quoted as saying by an English daily.

According to reports, the two victims were from the Netherlands and Venezuela. They were allegedly abducted and gang raped by Dar and his associates in Lahore last month.

One of the victims managed to inform her father, who reportedly called the Pakistani authorities from Spain, following which the police rescued them.

The two women had reportedly met Dar in Singapore last year. He had invited them to Pakistan and even arranged business visas for their visit.

The victims arrived in Lahore, Pakistan, on June 29. Dar and his friends allegedly abducted them and took them to a house, where they were allegedly gang raped.

The victims reportedly told police that Dar and his associates also demanded ransom for their release.
