The key accused in Niali farmer murder case was produced today before a local court which sent him to jail pending a decision on whether to remand him to custody.
The court could not decide on the crime branch plea for three days remand of Kartik Pani, who was sent to Choudwar jail.
The court is likely to take the decision either on Monday or Tuesday.
Pani was arrested from Niali yesterday in connection with the murder of a farmer named Krupasindhu Bhoi, whose body was found on January 31 this year after he reportedly was kidnapped from the locality on January 26.
Bhoi had sought certain agricultural-related information from district agriculture office under Right to Information (RTI) Act.
The Niali police had earlier arrested three of Pani’s relatives in connection with the murder.
