Myanmar President Htin Kyaw and State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi separately met with Indian foreign minister Sushma Swaraj on August 22 in Naypyitaw, according to the President&’s Office.
President Htin Kyaw received the Indian delegation led by Swaraj in the afternoon at the Presidential Palace in the capital, the President&’s Office announced.
They discussed boosting bilateral trade and cooperation in the transport, health and energy sectors. India offered technical help for bean farmers in Myanmar, the President&’s Office said.
Information Minister Pe Myint and deputy minister of foreign affairs Kyaw Tin also attended the meeting.
And Suu Kyi, the State Counsellor and Minister for Foreign Affairs, received the Indian delegation at 3pm at the Presidential Palace in the capital, the State Counsellor&’s Office announced.
Suu Kyi and Sushma Swaraj discussed bilateral cooperation in education, health and commerce. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kyaw Tin and other officials also attended the meeting.
The President&’s Office said President Htin Kyaw will pay a friendship visit to India from August 27 to 30.
