Indian companies have pledged to invest more than $20.5 billion across multiple sectors such as technology, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals in the United States. This includes $19.1 billion in pharmaceuticals.

“A Historic Milestone! A record $20.5 BILLION in investments in the United States from Indian companies celebrated at the 2026 SelectUSA Investment Summit,” read a post on the official X handle of US Embassy in India.

“This is the highest ever from India. From groundbreaking pharmaceutical expansions and advanced manufacturing to energy infrastructure and emerging technologies, Indian industries are putting their money where they know it will grow – America,” it added.

While sharing the news on X, US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor on Wednesday described the momentum as a direct outcome of US President Donald Trump’s economic leadership.

He said that 12 Indian companies announced fresh investments worth $1.1 billion in a single day, adding to a growing pipeline of commitments that he said were creating “real American jobs,” besides strengthening supply chains between the two nations.

“Indian companies plan to invest over $20.5 billion in various sectors including tech, manufacturing, and pharmaceuticals. This includes the 12 Indian companies who announced $1.1 billion in investments just today! These partnerships are creating REAL American jobs and building STRONGER supply chains. Proof that when the world’s largest democracies do business together, everyone wins. #SelectUSA,” he wrote.

Notably, the US will witness investment worth $19.1 billion in Pharma that will strengthen research and development as well as drug manufacturing.

Further, there will be $255 million in Steel to modernise critical US industrial capacity as well as $1.1 billion in expansion – 12 companies will launch new greenfield projects across the country.

This comes at a time when the two nations are deepening economic ties across multiple fronts, with bilateral trade, defence cooperation and technology partnerships all gaining pace under the current administrations in both countries.

However, the names of the 12 Indian companies that announced investments in the US have not been disclosed.
