Free fall of leaves and fresh buds growing ~ both the contrasting images mark busy days in the fashion world. With Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring Summer-2014 round the corner, India’s fashion industry is gearing up to electrify the runway at the National Capital.

The FDCI has once again brought together the most coveted names in the business of fashion. Asia’s biggest five-day fashion feast kicks off from 9-13 October at Hall No 18, Pragati Maidan. The designers extravaganza promises to unleash the latest trends and push the proverbial style envelope. A total of 113 designers will be presenting their cutting edge designs, making it a treat for buyers and viewers. Announcing the names of the participating designers and the schedule, Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI, said, “WIFW highlights the limitless boundaries of design as designers showcase their creative best. A leader in the global fashion event circuit, the WIFW has the highest number of designers who choose to make this event the chosen one for their debut. The excitement is building in anticipation of what will hit the runway as established and greenhorns gear up to make their presence felt with brilliant presentations."

Designers Anupama Dayal and Masaba Gupta will unveil their collections on the first day of the fashion show. While Anupama Dayal is noted for her inspirations and eclectic designs, Masaba Gupta’s label, House of Masaba, will once again delight fashion enthusiasts with its ingenious, bold prints sprinkled with an innovative graphic twist.

Dayal, whose signature brand is named Anupamaa, will unmask her collection Gulabi. "It is very exciting for me to open Wills Lifestyle India fashion Week Spring Summer 2014. I hope I can add freshness and energy!! The collection features folk-type flora inspired by Central Asia. The colours are mostly pastel, which is new for me and the look, while signature, is a definite departure (but you will have to see the show to observe how!). The three things that you must watch out for in the showing are the jewelry…the use of the colour pink…and the footwear thongs. Apart from the show I have designed a collection of scarves, which have been added to our very popular Pashmina line. They are crafted from chiffons and other gossamer fabrics! I would like to diversify my brand and penetrate the independent segments of scarves and jewelry."

Some of the other names include Charu Parashar, Paromita Banerjee, Shantanu Singh, Joy Mitra, Shweta Kapur, Yogesh Chaudhary, Namrata Joshipura, Pratima Pandey, Ruchika Sachdev, Amit Aggarwal, Pankaj and Nidhi, Rahul Mishra.
