Modi hopes to break 2014 and 2019 records under Yogi’s leadership
The prime minister hoped of an unexpected victory for the BJP in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections attributing it to CM Yogi's commitment to good governance and development.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that he held “extensive and fruitful” talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping during their first round of two-day informal summit in Wuhan.
“I am very pleased to meet with President Xi Jinping in Wuhan. We conducted extensive and fruitful talks and exchanged opinions on strengthening India-China relations and other international issues,” Modi said in a post in the popular Chinese social media platform Sina Weibo, where he has 1,83,112 followers.
“Thank you, President Xi Jinping, for the wonderful gesture of personally accompanying me in the Hubei Provincial Museum. The Museum is home to great facets of Chinese history and culture,” he added.

PM Modi and Xi are due to conclude their unprecedented informal summit on Saturday, seen as an effort by India and China to rebuild trust and improve ties that were hit by the 73-day-long Dokalam standoff last year.
Earlier on Saturday, PM Modi and Jinping began their second round of talks in Wuhan.
They walked by the East Lake as they resumed the second round of discussion followed by a boat ride.
Earlier on Friday, the two leaders agreed that healthy bilateral ties were important for a better world as they met in the Chinese city Wuhan to re-set the ties between the two nations hit by last year’s military face-off.
On the opening day of the two-day summit, when the Chinese rolled out the red carpet for PM Modi, both the leaders said they would want more such informal meetings. Modi invited Xi to India in 2019.
Both the leaders said that healthy Sino-Indian ties were imperative to maintain peace and stability in the world.
