‘Get the f*** out of my country’: Indian couple faces racial harassment in US days after Marco Rubio’s ‘stupid people’ remark on racism

Days after US Secretary of State Marco Rubio dismissed concerns over growing incidents of racism in the United States, an Indian couple was allegedly racially harassed in the country.

A video of the alleged incident has now gone viral on social media. It shows an Indian couple being asked if they are from India by a man, who appeared to be sitting inside a vehicle, with his face not visible.

When the couple responded with a yes, the man inside the vehicle asks them if India is better than the US.

The Indian man responds with a neutral answer, saying both countries have their plus points and mentions that India has family.

The man in the car then responds furiously, asking the couple to go home. “No, we don’t want you here. You have to go home. Get the f*** out of my country.”

While the exact time and location of the alleged incident are unknown, the video was shared on X by a handle named @AyTone4th. “I encountered some incredible H-1B Indians, and I had to let them know something!” read the caption of the post.

The incident comes days after Secretary Rubio was asked by reporters about the growing incidents of racism against Indians in the US.

Rubio, who was in India this week, had responded by saying that “every country has stupid people.”

“People say stupid stuff all the time on social media and in every country in the world, unfortunately,” he added.
