The 2-day visit of 25 foreign envoys to Jammu and Kashmir concluded on Thursday with the commander of the Srinagar based 15 Corps of the Army, Lt. General KJS Dhillon briefing them about the attempts of Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists and increasing incidents of shelling in the civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC).

The envoys flew to Jammu after the briefing and interacted with Lt. Governor GC Murmu.

They were also briefed by Chief Secretary BVR Subramaniam and DGP Dilbag Singh.

Murmu apprised the envoys about the normalisation of the situation within the union territory and steps being taken to further boost the economy.

The Afghan envoy, Tahir Qadiry, tweeted; “The 2-day visit of the 25 foreign envoys to J&K concluded. We have had interactions with some groups of civil society, traders, political representatives, media outlets, military units & some local government officials about the current situation & their prospects for the future”.

Although the administration had tightened security during the visit of the envoys to Srinagar on Wednesday, but several Kashmiris conveyed their grievances on Twitter, particularly to Qadiry who remained active on the social media.

About two dozen delegations met the envoys in Jammu. The envoys visited the Jagati area near Nagrota where the migrant Kashmiri Pandits have been accommodated. The migrants urged them to take stock of their ethnic cleansing from the Valley.

Few other delegations appreciated the abrogation of Article 370 and complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir and also Ladakh with the rest of India.

They were unable to fly to Baramulla due to bad weather.
