The Venezuelan embassy here has urged the international community and India not to pay heed to western media reports of chaos and repression in Venezuela.
In a press release, the embassy said Abdul Nafey, JNU professor in the Centre or Canadian, US & amp; Latin American Studies, School of International Studies, was in Caracas along with representatives from over 45 countries for an international delegates meeting with Venezuelan President Maduro and got first-hand information about the convening for a National Constituent Assembly (NCA). The embassy release said the government has discussed the framework for the electoral process with all relevant political, economic and religious organisations, with the exception of the major opposition alliance, who have refused to hold a dialogue and have instead called for protests.
The release said as the country gears up for the electoral process, the United States has intensified its campaign against Venezuela, unilaterally sanctioning its vice-president and members of the Supreme Court in an attempt to demoralise the nation.
