Hong Kong police condemned protesters who sieged their headquarter for 15-hour as tensions heightened over China extradition bill that has sparked the biggest political crisis.

Thousands of protesters blocked the main highway outside Hong Kong parliament on Friday.

Demonstrators are demanding the withdrawal of the controversial China extradition bill and wanted the city’s pro-Beijing leader Carrie Lam to step down.

“They have shown the greatest tolerance to the protesters who assembled outside PHQ (police headquarters),” the police said and slammed those rallying saying “their means of expressing views have become illegal, irrational and unreasonable”.
