The doctors of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) under Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) were applauded by the general people for saving the life of a 16-month old infant.
The child, Mr Atish Kumar Singh, was brought to the IGH in a critical condition on 22 January.  The child had reportedly drowned in a pool while playing near his house in Sadhubaga near Sector-16 locality.
“The baby was unconscious at the time of admission to the hospital. The case was immediately referred to ICU by the doctor at the casualty unit. The child was
provided with cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and kept under observation. Due to the timely intervention and prompt medical care, the life of the baby could be saved,” said senior medical officer Dr Shahid Yahya.
A special team of doctors including Dr Satish; Dr RL Panda; Dr NP Sahoo, Dr Sanjeev Acharya; Dr P Mishra and Dr NC Nanda of various departments was formed under the guidance of director (M and HS) Dr BB Rao to look after the treatment.
The condition of the child is said to be stable now.
