The All India Democratic Students’ Organisation (AIDSO) staged a demonstration in front of the Assembly demanding supply of text books to Plus Two students, stop fee hike and end commercialisation of education.

The medical council of India must enhance the number of seats in medical colleges of the state, said Das.

Scholarships must be given within a month of the application , the block grant system for teachers must be abolished,demanded the AIDSO.

The students wanted the Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Siksha Abhijan and Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA) to be stopped. AIDSO state vicepresident Mr Ganesh Kumar Tripathy, secretary Shibasis Praharaj and others also addressed the meetingand others addressed students and wanted the reintroduction of pass, fail system from Class 1 onwards.
