Over 5,600 Indians and 1,900 foreign nationals were evacuated by air and sea during Yemen’s civil war. It became one of India’s largest overseas rescue operations.

IRAQ NURSES CRISIS (2014-2015)

46 Indian nurses trapped in Tikrit after ISIS takeover were brought home safely. The evacuation was personally overseen by Sushma Swaraj.

LIBYA EVACUATION (2014)

More than 4,500 Indians were rescued as violence spread across Libya. Special aircraft and naval ships were deployed for the mission.

Over 150 Indians were evacuated from conflict-hit South Sudan. Night-time air operations ensured safe return.
