Xiaomi has launched its entry-level successor Redmi 5A in India at starting Rs. 5,999, same as Redmi 4A. Additionally, Xiaomi has an introductory offer for first 5 million Redmi 5A consumers, under which the 2GB RAM variant of Redmi 5A will be available for Rs. 4,999.

The 5-inch HD display Redmi 5A comes with a metallic matte finish and features a dedicated microSD card slot for storage expansion. It is backed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor and comes coupled with 2GB and 3GB RAM, as well as 16GB and 32GB internal storage options respectively.

Xiaomi is highlighting Redmi 5A’s 3000mAh as ‘long-lasting battery’ that could offer up to 8 days of standby time.

The Redmi 5A comes equipped with a 13MP rear camera with Phase Detection Autofocus (PDAF) and a 5MP front facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A: Price and Availability

Xiaomi will offer 2GB RAM variant of the Redmi 5A at Rs. 4,999 for first 5 million consumers, after that the price will go back to Rs. 5,999. The 3GB RAM variant however remains at Rs. 6,999. It comes with a metallic matte finish, and will be available in three colours – Dark grey, Gold and Rose gold.

The Redmi 5A will be available from 12 noon, 7 December 2017, across Flipkart, Mi.com, and Mi Home stores, followed by offline retailers including Mi Preferred Partners in the subsequent weeks, said company at the launch event in India on Thursday.
