On Wednesday,  eSports and mobile gaming platform  MPL announced that it has blocked over a million user accounts in order to keep giving users a safe and honest gaming environment.

The gaming platform has taken the action of removing gamers who broke the rules and cheated to alter the outcomes in their favour.

Some of the main causes of user accounts being restricted include utilising numerous accounts by the same user to access the platform, uploading fake or doctored KYC documents, using unauthorised payment methods including stolen cards, and cheating during gameplay by employing any hacks or collusion techniques.

The gaming platform has also made a number of announcements to support the player-first philosophy and give users a risk-free and safe gaming environment.

“This move is aligned to our player-first approach and also highlights MPL’s zero tolerance towards users who resort to illegal practices in order to alter gameplay results and gain an unfair advantage. With initiatives like this, MPL is poised to continue being a safe and user-friendly platform that is trusted by the users,” Ruchir Patwa, VP of Security and Compliance, MPL, said in a statement.

As a result, the business established a bug bounty programme to compensate security researchers with up to Rs 10 lakhs for correctly tracing a platform vulnerability.

Researchers will be able to submit any potential flaws that could provide a player an unfair edge thanks to the bug reward programme.
