Actress Richa Chadha has signed on to star in director Omung Kumar&’s upcoming biopic Sarabjit, which sees Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Randeep Hooda in lead roles. The 26-year-old actress, who is riding high on the success of Masaan, will play Sarabjit&’s wife (Hooda) in the the film based on the Indian who died in a Pakistani jail. “Yes they have approached me and I will be doing it. However, at this point of time, paper work is being done and I can’t comment anything more. I have been offered the role to play Randeep&’s wife and I will sign on the dotted lines soon. It is an interesting role and I can’t wait to talk more on the same,” Richa said in a statement.
This will be the actress’ second film opposite Hooda. The two will be seen together in upcoming film Main Aur Charles, also a biopic. In the film, Aishwarya will play Sarabjit&’s sister, Dalbir Kaur, who fought for her brother&’s release from Lahore Jail but her quest ended tragically when he died in 2013 following a brutal attack by fellow prisoners.
Labh Janjua found dead
Having sung quite popular songs in Bollywood as well as for the indie music scene, popular bhangra singer Labh Janjua was found dead at his residence in Bangur Nagar, Goregaon, Mumbai, recently. He was also quite popular for his Punjabi songs in various Hindi films as well as pop albums. The cause of death has not yet been verified, as the police are yet to reveal the details.
Originally from Ludhiana, Punjab, Janjua became popular with the song Mundiyan Toh Bach Ke, which was produced by Punjabi MC. It was also used in the Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif-starrer Boom. He officially started singing for Bollywood in the 2007 film Hattrick. Since then he sang for many popular films like Dev D, Salman Khan&’s Jai Ho, Akshay Kumar&’s Singh is Kinng and even its sequel, Singh is Bliing, Krazzy 4 and Garam Masala. He also sang the very popular London Thumakda in Kangana Ranaut&’s Queen and Baari Barsi in Anushka Sharma and Ranveer Singh&’s Band Baaja Baaraat.
