We have grown up with the tale of the intelligent crow, who dropped pebbles to bring up water from the bottom of a pitcher. Bird watchers too vouch for the "higher IQ" of crows, as they are quick to learn and have a few tricks "up their wings"! It’s a common sight where these birds dip dry pieces of bread or roti in water, hold them down before eating.
The other day, a colleague saw a crow tackling a discarded packet of chips with a few pieces at the bottom. Unable to stick its beak through the opening and reach the chips, the crow picked up the packet from the bottom end and fluttered up a few feet. It did this a couple of times to dislodge the chips, which fell to the ground. And a small repast was ready!
