In a reflective message after facing defeat, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin said he fully respects the decision of the voters. He stated that the people’s mandate is final and must be accepted with dignity. “We bow to and accept the verdict of the people. Congratulations to the victors,” he said.

Stalin reminded that during the last five years, his government focused on building many development projects across Tamil Nadu. He said his administration worked to provide good governance and tried to improve the lives of people in every possible way.

According to him, the state moved forward in multiple sectors under his leadership. He also stressed that during the election campaign, his party did not rely on empty promises but only spoke about the work they had already done.

He added that the appeal for votes was made with one main idea to ensure that welfare schemes already introduced by the government would continue without interruption. For him, continuity of public welfare was the key message to voters.

Gratitude to people and workers behind the movement

Expressing deep gratitude, MK Stalin thanked the people of Tamil Nadu for their support to the secular progressive alliance led by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He acknowledged everyone who voted for them and said their trust remains important, regardless of the result.

Stalin also made a personal reflection, saying he governed not only for those who voted for him but also for those who may have chosen not to vote. He described this approach as part of his responsibility toward all citizens equally.

Stalin said he remained true to every section of society and acted according to his conscience throughout his time in office. He described his efforts as going beyond his physical limits, indicating the intense effort he put into governance.

The DMK leader reserved special words of thanks for his party workers and senior leaders, especially those associated with former leader M Karunanidhi. He called them inseparable from his political journey and expressed heartfelt gratitude for their constant support. He also thanked alliance leaders, officials, and grassroots workers who stood with the party during the campaign.

“DMK journey will continue without faltering”

Looking back at his political life, MK Stalin said he has experienced both major victories and difficult defeats. He noted that politics is not only about winning or losing elections, but the strength of ideas and policies.

He emphasised that the ideology and principles of the DMK remain more important than any single electoral outcome. According to him, the party’s journey is larger than one election result.

Stalin assured that the DMK’s political path will continue without hesitation or weakness. He said that the party, which has worked as a model ruling party for the people so far, will now function as a strong and responsible opposition party.
