Indian women’s cricket team led by Harmanpreet Kaur thrashed Malaysia by 142 runs in their first game in the Asia Cup 2018.

Riding on star Indian batswoman Mithali Raj’s blistering 97 runs, India eves put up a strong total of 169 for 3 against the host team on Sunday at the Kinrara Academy Oval, Kuala Lumpur, in their allotted 20 overs.

Following the target, Malaysia were not able to counter Indian bowlers and were bundled up for just 27 runs. Six batters from the host team were not even able to get off the mark.

From the Indian side, all-rounder Pooja Vastrakar scored 16 runs off 13 balls and bagged three wickets. And Indian skipper Harmanpreet Kaur scored 32 runs off 23 balls.
