Wishes pour in from cricket fraternity as Suresh Raina turns 31 today

As India’s bygone middle-order batsman Suresh Raina turned 31 on Monday, the sports fraternity wished him overwhelmingly counting and recollecting his achievements on his big day.

“May all good things happen to you this year. Happy birthday my brother @ImRaina! Keep rocking. God bless,” India spinner Harbhajan said on Twitter.

Having played 306 international matches for India, Raina has scored 7,643 runs with six centuries and 47 half-centuries.

Indian Premier League chairman Rajeev Shukla wished fellow state man, saying: “May the upcoming year bring more success and joy to you, #HappyBirthdayRaina Your hard work and hunger to succeed will surely bring Triumph.”

On the occasion, Suresh Raina’s wife Priyanka also wished her on Twitter, crediting the cricketer husband for all her success.

“Thank you for always believing in me, for inspiring, encouraging, and comforting me and always making me smile. I love you, my wonderful husband. Wish you a very #HappyBirthday!”

India’s fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah wished Raina ‘prosperity and good health’ on his birthday.

“Many many happy returns of the day @ImRaina bhai. Have a wonderful year ahead. Wishing you lots of prosperity and good health. Cheers!”

Former India cricketer Mohammad Kaif called Raina a ‘gifted cricketer’.

“Happy Birthday to a really gifted cricketer, @ImRaina. May your hardwork pay off and you achieve more and more success,” Kaif tweeted.

Raina last played in T20Is for India in February this year during England tour of India.

On his birthday, fast bowler Irfan Pathan also wished ‘may his hard work pays off’.

“Wishing u a very happy birthday brother @sureshraina3 have a great year ahead, Keep working hard it will pay off soon. P.S what is @mahi7781 trying to do there?”

New Zealand batting legend Brendon McCullum also joined in, saying: “Happy birthday my brother @ImRaina. Much love. Have a great day!”
