Former West Indies cricketer Michael Holding, who is considered to be among one of the fastest bowlers in the history of Test cricket, believes that Indian skipper Virat Kohli is no great if he fails in England.

Virat Kohli is often called one of the best batsman that India has ever produced in all formats of the game (One day International, Test, T20I). Even though led by Virat, Indian squad had lost three-match Test series in South Africa, yet Virat wrote history by his sensational knock of 153 runs at Centurion.

Other than England, Virat’s average is good almost everywhere in the world. In 2014, during India’s tour to England, Virat Kohli was backlashed because of his form as Kohli averaged just 13.4 in 10 innings.

However, now Virat Kohli has a chance to improve his record in England in 2018 when India will play a five-Test series against the English Team.

Michael Holding, who is also popularly known as ‘Whispering Death’ by umpires because of his silent approach to the bowling crease, wants captain Kohli to do good on that tour.

“Virat Kohli is a fantastic batsman. I was asked to name three top cricketers and I included Kohli in that list,” Holding said while talking to Mumbai Mirror.

“He is a very, very good player. When I see him score runs in England, I would call him a great player. I like people who score runs everywhere. He is an extremely good player.”

“The three cricketers I think are the best now are Joe Root, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith. AB de Villiers has just come back into Test cricket and let’s see how he does. I don’t want to include him yet in that list.”
