Indian skipper Virat Kohli wrote history as he scored his 35th One Day International (ODI) century on Friday as India wrapped the series 5-1 against South Africa in Centurion.

After writing his name in the record book, Virat Kohli credited his wife Anushka Sharma for his success and said, “Well, look it has been a rollercoaster tour till now. A lot is done off the field. I think people who contribute off the field, people that are close to me, they deserve a lot of credit as well. My wife has been keeping me motivated throughout. She deserves a lot of credit for this.”

“She’s been criticised a lot in the past. But she’s one person who’s kept me going throughout the tour when the times have been tough and I am really grateful for that. So, it is all about being in a good zone and as I said, you need good people around you to keep you there,” the-29-year-old cricketer added.

With the win, Indian cricket team led by Virat Kohli become the first ever from India to win an ODI series against South Africa in the rainbow nation.

With his ‘majestic’ 35th ODI ton, Virat Kohli (558) has also become the highest-run-getter in an ODI bilateral series.

Other than captain Kohli, India’s new spin duo Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav also played a big role in India’s dominance.
