India skipper Virat Kohli on Saturday took the wicket of centurion Harry Nielsen on the fourth day of the team’s practice match against Cricket Australia XI, who have amassed a mammoth total of 544. It is also Virat Kohli’s maiden wicket Down Under. The practice match between India and CA XI is being played at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Before departing on Virat Kohli’s bowl, Harry Nielsen score a hundred with the help of nine boundaries in the 170 balls he played. After scalping Nielsen’s wicket, the 30-year-old captain was seen laughing.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India uploaded a photograph from their official Twitter handle and wrote: “That moment when the Skip gets a wicket #TeamIndia #CAXIvsIND.”

 

Virat Kohli had bowled a few overs on Friday too. When R Ashwin was asked about Virat Kohli’s spell, he said, “Dishing out a lesson to all the bowlers about probably where you should bowl. Jokes apart, he just wanted to bowl a couple of overs because the bowlers were tiring out and before the second new ball came into play.”

 

In the four-day warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI, Indian bowlers had a tough outing as CA XI manage to score a mammoth total of 544 runs in front of touring team.
