The Indian women’s cricket team paid a heartfelt tribute to England stalwarts Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont after the duo brought the curtain down on their international careers following the historic one-off Test at Lord’s.
In a touching post-match gesture, members of the Indian squad presented the two retiring cricketers with signed Team India jerseys inside the visitors’ dressing room, shortly after India sealed a memorable 270-run victory in the first-ever women’s Test at Lord’s.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video of the presentation on its official social media platforms, calling it a fitting tribute to two of the game’s modern greats.
“A heartwarming tribute to two incredible careers. #TeamIndia players presented special signed jerseys to Heather Knight and Tammy Beaumont to celebrate their remarkable time in international cricket,” the BCCI captioned the video.

Addressing the England duo in the presence of their teammates, India batter Jemimah Rodrigues thanked Knight and Beaumont for their immense contribution to women’s cricket and the inspiration they have provided to generations of players.
“On behalf of the Indian team, Tammy and Heather, we just want to thank you for all that you’ve done for women’s cricket. It’s not easy, the amount of effort, hard work, sacrifices and tears, but you still came out and gave everything for your country.
“You have inspired far more people than you’ll ever realise. Cricket is all about making memories, and as the Indian team, we just wanted to leave you with a small memory on your last match for England. Congratulations, and all the best for everything,” Jemimah said.
The gesture was warmly received by Beaumont and former England captain Knight, who signed off after distinguished international careers spanning more than a decade. Both played instrumental roles in England’s success and helped shape the growth of women’s cricket on the global stage.
The emotional farewell capped a landmark occasion at Lord’s, where India not only secured a historic Test victory but also celebrated the careers of two of England’s finest cricketers.
