Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic has provided fans with an injury update as the 12-time Grand Slam champion uploaded a video on Instagram of himself working hard to get back to speed without much further delay.

Djokovic, whose comeback after six-month hiatus at the 2018 Australian Open ended in the fourth rounds at the hand of upcoming talent Hyeong Chung, recently had a ‘small medical intervention’ on his troublesome elbow in the aftermath of his exit at Melbourne:

The 30-year-old, who last won a Slam in 2016 (Australian and French Open), was seen playing with an elbow sleeve Down Under and notably, the sleeve is still there as he builds his strength back

A revamped serving action didn’t bring much joy for the former World No.1, who is now a lowly 13 in the ATP Rankings, and it remains to be seen if he will ever get back to his dominant best.

Currently coached by Andre Agassi and Radek Stepanek, Djokovic has reportedly been not training with the same intensity as he previously did, but the Serbian has insisted he still retains the drive that saw him dominate world tennis not so long ago.

The likes of Andy Murray, Rafael Nadal and Stanislas Wawrinka have all been struggling with injuries, with the Scot out of action since Wimbledon last year with a hip complaint that had to be operated upon.

Swiss maestro Roger Federer, at 36, has been enjoying a renaissance as his rivals have struggled to keep up and the 20-time Slam champion has emerged as the player to beat on the ATP Tour this year with his triumph at the 2018 Australian Open.
