After India captain Virat Kohli cleared the air on the alleged rift between him and vice-captain Rohit Sharma, the latter took to Twitter to speak his mind. Rohit said that he doesn’t just walk only for his team but also for the country, presumably giving a hint of his take on the issue.

Rohit on Wednesday took Twitter to write: “I don’t just walk out for my Team. I walk out for my country.”

Rohit’s tweet comes days after Kohli rubbished the rumours of the alleged tussle between him and his deputy.

“We are feeding off lies. We are overlooking facts. We are turning a blind eye to all the good things that has happened. We are creating fantasies and scenarios in our head and want to accept that this is the truth,” Kohli said while addressing the pre-tour media conference ahead of the West Indies tour.

“I have seen this for too long now. Bringing personal lives into the picture. It’s disrespectful after a moment. There is nothing between me and Rohit,” Kohli said.

However, before Kohli’s statement regarding the matter, reports were rife in sections of media about the Indian side being divided between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after India’s semi-final exit from the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019.

Talking about the Indian team, they are currently in the US and are scheduled to play two T20I games against West Indies on 3rd and 4th August in Florida before proceeding to the Carribean islands for rest of the tour.
