Indian skipper Virat Kohli was all praises for Indian bowlers, especially spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav after they shattered South Africa’s batting line-up in the second One Day International (ODI) match in Centurion.

On Sunday, with the help of Yuzvendra Chahal (5/22) and Kuldeep Yadav (3/20), the visitors bundled out the hosts for 118 runs. Following a target of 119 runs, India beat South Africa by nine wickets.

With India’s win in the second ODI match, Virat Kohli’s squad have taken a 2-0 lead.  Praising Chahal and Kuldeep’s spell, Indian skipper said that they can turn the bowl on any ground.

“The pitch was harder than Durban and the spinners used it. We knew we won’t get grass on the pitch because when it’s seaming, it can be anyone’s game. We knew the wickets would be hard and dry and knew our wrist spinners can get it to turn anywhere. They just didn’t give South Africa any chance,” said Kohli.

Chasing the target, India lost opener Rohit Sharma early as he sent back to pavilion at a score of 15 runs by Kagiso Rabada.

After Sharma’s dismissal, Indian skipper Virat Kohli joined Shikhar Dhawan on the crease and took the charge of the innings. From the visitors’ side, Shikhar Dhawan scored a fifty and with Kohli’s unbeaten 46 chased down the target of 119 runs with ease.

“If we set up to chase down totals, we know exactly what we want to do. Rohit and Shikhar’s intent at the top is crucial. They started off well in the last game too,” Virat added.

“We back guys to play positive cricket. It’s (2-0) a wonderful position to be in. We know their middle-order was inexperienced and we wanted to cash in on that,” Virat Kohli said.
