A month after becoming the first cricketer to cross 100 million followers on social media, Virat Kohli on Wednesday surpassed 30 million followers on Twitter.

The run machine, who became the fastest to reach 11,000 ODI runs during India’s clash with Pakistan on Sunday, tweeted a video in which he can be seen awestruck.

“also my reaction when we crossed 30 million on Twitter. Thanks for all the love and support everyone. #30MillionStrong [sic],” tweeted the No.1 ODI batsman.

It is an amazing feat for Kohli, considering the fact that he is a cricketer and cricket does not have a global fan base like other sports such as football.

With regards to Twitter, Cristiano Ronaldo is the most followed sportsperson with 79.4 million followers. He is followed by Neymar Junior with 43.6 million followers. Among the cricketers, Sachin Tendulkar (29.4 million) and Kohli are the most followed.

Virat Kohli — who debuted in the year 2008 — has 41 ODI centuries to his name and stands just 8 centuries behind Sachin Tendulkar.
