As the Indian Under-17 footballers prepare for the FIFA U-17 World Cup, starting Friday, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli wished the young boys asking them to make the nation ‘proud’.

“I would like to wish them all the very best for the first game and the rest of the tournament. Go get it boys, make us proud,” Kohli said in a video he shared on Monday.

India are scheduled to play the United States in their opening match at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, New Delhi on Friday.

The apex regulatory body – FIFA—acknowledged the India’s ‘star cricketer’ quoting him on Twitter.

FIFA.com tweeted: “With three days to go before #FIFAU17WC begins, 🇮🇳️🏏 star @imVkohli wishes @IndianFootball U-17s good luck!”
